One of the most essential
things to do in Melbourne is to discover the water at Docklands. You don’t have to be a boater, nor own your own boat in order to get yourself out on the waterways and experience the beauty of the vastness the Docklands have to offer. You can charter a boat, take a cruise, hop on a steamboat, the possibilities are endless, and the experience a must.

Docklands is home to five different Marinas, the Melbourne Super yacht Marina, The Waterfront City Marina, The Marina YE Yarra’s Edge, the New Quay Marina and the D’Albora Mainas Victoria Harbor. They cater to all different kinds of commercial vessels and super yachts. While visiting Melbourne you can book one of the vessels to do some sight-seeing, fishing, or just to feel the wind in your hair while sailing down the waterfront.
Chartering a vessel is easy and accessible. If you know when you will be visiting Melbourne, make your plans ahead of time and do some research. Find out which kind of cruise and vessel suites your style more. Or, don’t be limited by just one, try out one or two while there, they will both be exhilarating and something out of the ordinary
There are several events that are held at the Docklands, by going online ahead of time you can try to coordinate events around when you know you will be visiting and make sure to add it to you “things to do in Melbourne” list. If you are going to be visiting Melbourne during the winter holidays and there over New Year’s Eve, make sure to take in a well loved and highly attended New Year’s Eve event held at the Docklands. The City of Melbourne puts on quite a wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration with entertainment, fire-works and lots of family fun. There is something for everyone at this festival, a real local favorite. Be sure to get your booking early, however, bookings for New Year’s Eve at the Waterfront City Marina open in August and are highly coveted.
The Docklands Boating Hub in Victoria Harbor provides access for groups and members of the public to utilize safely on their own, and is the perfect place to hold events. It also has some pretty unique associations including the Victorian Dragon Boat Association, The Melbourne Canoe Clue, The Docklands Yacht Club, and the Sailability Victoria, which caters to the disadvantaged (Disabled persons and the elderly). There is never a shortage of things to do or sights to see at the Hub. It is a hub of activity with never a dull moment.

things to do in Melbourne, that you could spend your entire trip there and not experience it all. If you are a sea lover, this is the perfect place for you to be. There are so many things to do, many vessels to charter, so many sights to see.
